Mississippi is often a place where people think mostly of small towns and while there are many small towns in Mississippi there are some cities of substantial size like Jackson, Hattiesburg and Gulfport. Jackson has nearly 200,000 people, and Hattiesburg and Gulfport both have over 50,000. There are another 15 cities that have over 20,000 people. If it is small town life at a low cost of living that are important to you, Mississippi massage therapy might make a good career change choice for you.

In order to practice massage therapy in the state you must be licensed and therefore the proper schooling is necessary.

It is possible to attend a massage therapy school in another state or country instead of attending a Mississippi school of massage therapy course. In order to do this the schools can likely advise you what courses you may need to take in order to advertise yourself in a specialized area of Mississippi massage therapy such as reflexology. It might be wise to consider exactly where you will be practicing Mississippi massage therapy as there are certain places where you want to have an address on your license specific to where you are working.
